Stage 1- the numbers

The DCBC Pastoral Leadership team and Elders are committed to the construction of the proposed new building. We have resource consent to build and have completed architectural concept plans. We would now like to start building. However...

"Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.' Luke 14:28-30

Stage 1
We intend to procede one stage at a time as we have funds. This year we want to begin the first stage- building the administrative block, future chapel, toilets and associated rooms, including necessary carparking and the installation of drainage and water pipes, and electrical cables which service the whole complex.

Once complete this section of the building will enable us to start using the site 7 days a week. It will house our church offices, freeing the DCBC centre for other uses (eg. commercial), and  include a small cafe with adjacent lounge area, several meeting rooms of varying sizes and one large meeting space- the eventual chapel area. These will be great spaces for all sorts of ministries - eg. Mainly Music, Youth Group, NBA, the Wayup, Hub functions, Student activities etc would be able to be accommodated (two or more at a time). It would also be a comfortable place to drop in for coffee and to meet with people.

The first stage is projectd to cost $2.5 million and to raise this money we intend to use our existing building funds and additionally we are aiming to raise money from contributions from within our congregation and through fund raising in our local community. We are seeking people to partner with us to achieve this goal... read on.
