Below you’ll find many opportunities to get involved within DCBC. Browse the list and pick one that interests you.
You should feel free to try out a serving role before committing to it. Leaders of each of the areas below understand that you often need to explore different ministry roles before you find where you best fit. Therefore feel free to show up once and move on until you find your niche.

Serving on a Sunday
Music team
Performing during our Sunday services or in our childrens and youth programs.
Orbit
Helping lead our childrens' ministry during the Sunday morning service. There are many roles from setup to running activities- sports, crafts etc, to teaching to leading a small group to helping with children's worship.
NBA
Helping lead our intermediate youth group on Sunday mornings, help run activities on Friday evenings or be a mentor to a young person.
Creche
Caring for the infants and toddlers during our Sunday morning service.
Service Setup and Pack down team
Helping with Sunday services.
- Description: For Sunday morning service we set up all the sound, computing and video equipment we use during our services as well as the information tables, morning tea equipment, childrens toys and organise the seating in our Sunday Lounge venue.
- Skills required: Just a heart to serve.
- Time commitment: Options= Sunday morning, 8am to after the service. Roster system so that you're required once every few weekends.
Sound team
Run the sound system during the Sunday services.
- Description: Each Sunday morning and evening the team sets up the sound system and mix the pre-service practice and service.
- Skills required: You need an ear for sound and to be a person who is concerned for details. All training provided- it usually takes 3-4 weekends to learn how to setup and run the system.
- Time commitment: Options= Sunday morning, 8am to after the service. Roster system so that you're required once every few weekends.
Data projection team
Operating the computer that controls everything on screen during the Sunday services.
- Description: Each Sunday morning and evening the team sets up the data projectors and computer, compile the order of service material and get things on screen for the pre-service practice and service.
- Skills required: You need to know you're way around PC's- regularly use them to play videos and music. All training provided in the use of our software.
- Time commitment: Options= Sunday morning, 8am to after the service. Roster system so that you're required once every few weekends.
Sermon Recording Team
Recording sermons during Sunday services.
- Description: Set up computer equipment, record sermons, make copies on compact disc for people.
- Skills required: Know your way around a computer. The software involved will be taught to you and is simple to use.
- Time commitment: 20 minutes before service setting up and 20 minutes after service making compact discs. Recording during service takes minimal time. Choose to do mornings or evenings and roster very flexible.
Counting Team
Helping count the weekly offering straight after the service. Takes 15 minutes and we operate a roster so that you are required once a month.

Car Parking Team
Assisting people to find a park safely and encouraging people to park in a way that makes for a safe departure following the service, helping people to park their vehicle if needed and ensuring the kids running around before church are safe: these are important jobs that need to be done on a Sunday morning before the service - it's also a friendly way to greet everybody that arrives!
Serving during the week
Life (small) Group leaders
Hosting and leading a small group at your home during the week.
Young Adults
Helping run and develop the Young Adults ministry- whether a behind the scenes role, specialist role or involved as a leader.
Youth Group leaders
Helping lead our high school youth group, run activities or be a mentor to a young person.
Film and Video
Produce compelling powerpoint and video media
- Description: Taking clips from movies, putting images and lyrics to music tracks, creating short films...
- Skills required: We provide all the training in how to use the software and computer/video equipment so really the role is only dependant on creativity- you don't have to necessarily be artistic.
- Time commitment: No set amount. We regularly use powerpoint and video material in our services, weekly meetings and youth groups.
Graphic Design
Produce compelling media content for advertising, and our pamphlets, newsletter and website.
- Skills required: You don't have to be an artist or even artistic to have graphic design skills.
- Time commitment: Very flexible. No set amount.
Web team
Develop and maintain our website.
- Description: From producing graphic and written content, to regularly uploading the content to coding the back-end functionality.
- Skills required: From no specific skills to graphic skills to web programming skills- there are many jobs.
- Time commitment: No set amount, but it takes about an hour a week to keep our site up to date.
DCBC centre communciations & reception assistance
The DCBC centre is our church offices.
- Description: Helping with vaccuming and cleaning the church offices. Answering phones and taking messages. Interacting with those who visit the offices to assist as possible.
- Skills required: A friendly and confident manner when dealing with people. It isn't necessary to have computing and typing skills.
- Time commitment: From one hour to several on one or more days of the week, depending on your availability. Our biggest needs are in the afternoons, especially 12-2pm.
Finance team
Assisting the church treasurer with basic accountancy work- mainly data entry and maintaining our records.
