Our most deeply held value is that we be a Christ-centred church (rather than a religious church). That is, a church that revolves around Christ's desires for us rather than God revolving around us, fulfilling our wishes. Illustrating this is the concept of the Copernican Revolution.
| Revolution speaks of orbital motion and momentous change. When Copernicus showed that the earth orbits the sun, rather than being the centre of the universe, he overthrew an erroneous way of understanding and interacting with the cosmos. We too want to be revolutionary as a church. Revolutionary in that we place God at the centre so our life revolves around His will and purposes. And revolutionary in that we are God's agents in the world for momentous change. It takes a revolution in the thinking of a person or a church to overthrow the normal self-centered way of living and to put Christ at the center. |
|
| That's what we are about - helping people make Jesus the centre of life and doing this through a deliberate discipleship process. |
