Hubs are integral to DCBC, giving expression to all the main dimensions of the church itself: teaching, worship, discipleship, community and mission.
Hubs reinforce what the Spirit is doing within the wider church. But they are not simply inward-focussed, catering only to our own needs. They move us out into our local community, equipping us for mission and practical care. |
Join a Hub and you’ll quickly discover a real sense of connection with the larger community of DCBC. You’ll feel much more at home when the church meets, because you’ll know a good portion of the church already. If you’re new to DCBC, Hubs are an important first step towards being a fully participating member of the church.
In Hubs you’ll experience genuine biblical community, an encouragement when life is going well and a real help when times are hard. Hubs offer all sorts of practical assistance from supplying meals to help when you’re moving house.
While Hubs are for everyone in any life situation, the rhythm of evening sessions and social activities is well designed to work in with family life. They supply an extended family – a broad Christian community spanning all age ranges – that can help to invest in the spiritual formation of children. They also give to children a strong sense of connection and belonging in the church.
Hubs foster growth in ministry and mission. Chances are high you’ll find opportunities for joyful service within a hub. Hubs can also be very effective in mission, whether in taking on a practical project in your local community, working together to reinforce a dimension of whole-church life, or equipping one another to share our faith.
If you’re serious about following Jesus, and long for real community, Hubs are most definitely for you. If you’d like to know more about joining a Hub, contact us. We’d love to see you involved and connected.
